About Form & Function

Form & Function is an independent guide to ready-to-build house plans. Every plan featured here comes from Truoba, a studio that sells construction drawing sets online.

Plan listings often show a beautiful render and little else. We pull out the details that matter before you spend money: overall dimensions and the lot width you need, which drawings come in the set, a rough cost-to-build range, what can be changed, and who a plan is and isn't right for.

What we are not. We are not architects or builders, and we don't sell plans ourselves. You buy directly from Truoba on their website. Your local builder and structural engineer have the final word for your site and your local codes.

How this site is funded. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure page for details.
